Flip Flash Cards Pty Ltd - About us

Flip Flash Cards Pty Ltd (FFC) was established in 2008 by Kim C. Halliday, after he discovered that there was a lack of adequate Learning Aids in the international education marketplace designed to cater to courses of all sizes.

Since then, FFC’s aim has been to make learning experiences both simple and fun for students, by creating flash card style learning aids that use plain English and logic-based information. These cards are designed to incorporate the key points of a chosen subject in a question and answer format, which are then repeatedly presented to the student, thus helping to build the student’s memory retention and recall.

FFC has also designed an electronic version of these Learning Aids in the form of Apps for use on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Studies by universities such as Oxford University and the University of British Columbia have shown that students have greater success at retaining information when they are repeatedly presented with the information and actively work to recall that information. This makes the flash card format particularly useful when introducing students to new subject areas, especially ones that require them to become familiar with a new subject “language” or set of terminologies, such as the “language” of Scuba diving.

FFC’s staff members hold a diverse range of qualifications and have a broad range of expertise, making them uniquely placed to create our fantastic learning products.

Our flash card formatted Learning Aids are currently available in two ranges, one designed to assist recreational scuba divers and the other for use by commercial divers. However, we are constantly expanding our learning aids range and searching for new subject material to incorporate into both our printed flash cards and our Apps range.

The flash card format is also suitable for incorporation into workplace health and safety practices training, enabling employees to refresh and reinforce their knowledge of their company’s health and safety policies and procedures.

FFC plans to produce both its printed and its electronic Learning Aids in a number of languages in addition to English, making them suitable for markets all over the world.

It should be noted that FFC’s Learning Aids are not intended as a substitute for or alternative to professionally taught courses. Rather they have been developed to make the process of learning and retaining the set information contained in the flash card format easier, and as a result to attract people to follow through on their interest in a particular subject area by enrolling in professional courses and gaining formal qualifications.

If you have an educational need for Learning Aids of this type for a subject area that you believe would suit FFC’s flash card format, please contact us and we will be happy to evaluate the subject potential and look at production possibilities.
